Times Are Tough

We all know that we are in difficult circumstance.  Our nation is troubled as is our world, gas prices are GAStly as are groceries.  Houses are foreclosing around us by the scores, crimes is rampant and people destitute.  I have however happened upon the most telling sign of the decay our society is experiencing, of the recessive trend that is becoming ever more obvious.

My family and I went to Carrows in a not-so-extravagant celebration (AMONG OTHERS) of my wife's birthday.  In the midst of this I ordered the MILE-HIGH roast beef sandwich, a delicacy which I partake of with relative frequency.

This time was different.  In the past, this sandwich while not the touted "mile-high" was indeed formidable and filling.  Not so this day.  The sandwich was sadly lacking.  It was pathetic.  I would take pause in calling it a "half-inch-high" sandwich.  There was scarcely a gap between the two slices of bread and when opened it was difficult to discern meat.  A carnivore such as myself would and indeed did, weep.

Other signs were evident, the shaded out and reprinted menus, lack of service and decay of decor, but the sandwich, yes the sandwich was most telling.

I have included photographic evidence of the travesty below.
